“Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.”
- John Whitmore, Coaching for Performance
Differences between Coaching and Psychotherapy
Coaching
Coaching imparts the belief that an individual themselves has the answer to their own problems. A coach can help you work through these problems and unlock your own potential by asking yourself the right questions.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental disorders by psychological rather than medical means. Moreover, psychotherapy focuses on working with clients on a long-term basis, and draws from insight into emotional problems and difficulties.
